Is there anything better than peanut butter for a snack? You can often find each member of our family with a peanut butter spoon for a snack at some point in the week! Sometimes we try variations of this with mini chocolate chips on it, and you can almost always find a glass of milk close by! Peanut butter is a favorite, but add chocolate and it will definitely be a hit with my family.
I have tried some different energy bites and peanut butter bars as an alternative to just plain peanut butter, and usually find they have ingredients that I don’t want as a regular part of our diet, or just haven’t been a favorite. A couple weeks ago I found the easiest recipe for our peanut butter loving family! These Peanut Butter Oatmeal bars are a new family favorite for a snack or dessert. Not only are they delicious, but they are so easy to make! They only take 5-10 minutes to make and only have 4 simple ingredients! They are a filling snack with just a few good ingredients, and they are loved by all.
Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars
Ingredients:
1 peanut butter
3/4 cup honey
1/2 cup chocolate chips
3 cups rolled oats
Line 8×8 pan with parchment paper. Melt peanut butter and honey in a saucepan over low heat and stir until smooth. Remove from heat and add oats. Add chocolate chips and stir until incorporated. Press into prepared 8×8 pan. Refrigerate until set or overnight. Cut and serve.
These bars are delicious, and I love the simple ingredients! They taste so good with our local honey from my dear friend, and my husband and son eat the pan up so quickly! Give them a try, add your own mix-ins along with the chocolate chips!
