As I have told you before, my parents moved to Tennessee about 9 years ago. Lucky for me, they come to visit every few months and there is always great celebrating when they do. Also lucky for me, my mama has picked up a few Southern traits since she has moved down South. One that I am a fan of is her newfound love of Southern dishes. Beef brisket, redneck tacos, and a simple but awesome favorite, grits. I. LOVE. GRITS.
So today, for breakfast we did up some grits, Judi-style. Yum yum.
Ingredients ::
1 cup grits
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. butter
4 1/2 cups water
Cooking Directions ::
Mix ingredients in large sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.
So easy, so southern and SO GOOD!! Breakfast is served.
