A year brings a lot of changes, especially with little ones. I was thinking back to last year at this time, and realizing how much kids really do grow and change in one year. I’m sure this is something that will never really sink in and the changes and growth that happen every year with kids is one that will continue to surprise and amaze me.
It’s been a great Christmas season so far. We’ve really loved enjoying some new traditions and carrying on some from years before. A couple of my favorites have been introducing our elf to the kids and watching them enjoy finding what trouble he’s been getting in each morning! We’ve also shared our tradition of creating a Jesse Tree, which the kids love learning a new little story each day symbolized by a small ornament leading up to the birth of Jesus. Another fun simple one that the kids loved was a night where we put them to bed as usual and then went up a few minutes later, got them out of bed, gave them a new blanket for the car, and took them for a ride to see Christmas lights! My son talked about this for days and I look forward to it being an ongoing tradition with our little ones!
I’m really looking forward to Christmas morning this year! A year ago looked so much different and I think they are both going to have so much fun!
