among friends :: healthy baking mixes

I’m not going to lie.  Baked goods don’t last long in my house.  This is an inherited genetic trait that I don’t try to fight since my mother can polish off a pan of brownies single-handed in 24 hours flat.  Thankfully, I’ve found a new guilt-free baked goods supplier that gives me a healthy option to indulge with.

Among Friends is the creation of two friends, Suzie Miller and Lizann Anderson.  Suzie and Lizann are two moms who share a love of baked goods but who also had a desire to make their tasty treats as healthy as possible for their families.  They know that not everyone has time to spend making healthy baked goods from scratch, so they’ve made it easy by creating delicious packaged baking mixes.  With minimal preparation each of the Among Friends baking mixes makes a delicious treat.

Full of whole grains and flax I am happy to report that each Among Friends healthy cookie baking mixes passed the “kid test” with my girls!  It was very amusing, but not too terribly surprising, to find that 2-year-old Dani’s favorite cookie is CJ’s Chocokrinkles.  These decadent chocolate cookies with a hint of espresso are so yummy each time either Dani or I have one the other of us can’t resist asking for a nibble! (The girl likes chocolate and coffee, what can I say?)

Among Friends offers three delicious flavors, CJ’s Chocokrinkles, Evan’s Heavenly (their take on a traditional oatmeal raisin cookie), and Suzie Q’s Chocolate Chip.  Each of these cookies freeze well after baking and can be enjoyed right out of the freezer, which is how we have been eating them.

You can read a complete ingredient list for each and every mix on the respective product pages, along with a description of how that baking mix got its name.  All their mixes include organic whole oats, no artificial anything, organic whole grain flour, less sugar, organic flax seed, and pure ingredients.

I can’t forget to mention the 4th Among Friends baking mix option, their Trish the Dish Fruit Crisp.  Turn any fruit into a delicious baked fruit crisp and my morning coffee never had a better accompaniment.  my SIMPLE star rating :: 5 out of 5
