One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to snuggle up in our cozy living room and watch a Christmas movie with the kids. We don’t typically do a movie on a school night, but Angela’s Christmas is a short film. We got it started by 7:30 and it was done by bedtime. We had hot chocolate, cozy spots on the couch, and some much needed time together in the midst of a busy week.
Angela’s Christmas has been nominated for 3 Emmy’s. It’s a Netflix Original movie. I enjoyed the accents and animation style of this movie. It’s based on a children’s book by Frank McCourt and tells the story of a 6 year old girl who is worried about the baby Jesus statue being cold in the nativity scene. She gets herself in quite a predicament while trying to “rescue” baby Jesus and make him warm and safe.
If you’re looking to add to your Christmas DVD collection, this is a tender and heart warming movie to watch as a family. It’s available online and in stores:
