It’s that time of year.  Parties, church events, school concerts, singing at a nursing home.  These are the type of events where I like to go the extra mile with my kids’ clothes.  I’m not talking frilly and fancy here, I’m talking classic–something they can wear over and over, something washable, something that stands out without sticking out.  For girls I love a simple dress with a sweater and a fun pair of tights.  For boys, a classic khaki or gray pant and a sweater with a bold stripe or pattern.  I definitely like to stick with layering when it comes to styling kids in the winter.

And in the event you’re needing a little outfit inspiration, I love the adorable styling on the kids outfits page.  I mean, seriously, do you see the yellow mouse cardigan?  Oh, if my daughter weren’t 10, she’d totally be wearing that!  And I would never have thought to pair it with the smocked party dress but I love it as an outfit!  And I can’t get enough of my little guy in the fair isle sweater with the bestselling cords.  And doesn’t the cableknit hat just make the outfit?  I love a hat and thankfully my little guy likes to accessorize!
