With two music loving girls I have learned to appreciate the various moods that can be invoked through music. I know what songs will inspire singing along, impromptu dance parties, or squealing from across the house. I also know what music can be used to help get my girls to sleep at night. This has become an important use of music at our house since our girls started sharing a room and they needed to learn how to fall asleep with another person in the same space.
I recently became introduced to Baby Blanket Music and their Soothing Lullaby Arrangements of Songs Made Famous By… an awesome variety of popular artists! We tried out the Madonna album, but they also have lullaby renditions of songs by Michael Jackson, Elton John, Billy Joel, John Mayer, and even Simon & Garfunkel.
While the traditional Madonna songs with lyrics would not fall into the ‘appropriate for my 1 1/2 and 3-year-old’ category, these music-only lullabies are perfectly suited for kids of all ages (yeah, I’m a big kid). They are upbeat enough that I’m sitting here listening to the Baby Blanket Music’s lullaby rendition of Madonna’s “Cherish” while I type, but they are also soothing enough to help get my girls to sleep peacefully.
All in all, Baby Blanket Music has become a welcome addition to our bedtime music rotation!
