Sending the kids back to school brings all kinds of emotions for me. My oldest turned 9 last week and someone pointed out to me that he’s halfway to 18. I’m basically halfway done with raising him. We’ve spent half of our summers together already! GASP, that went far too quickly. As sad as I am to see them go back to school, I haven’t forgotten their end of summer bickering, boredom, and whining. It’s time for routine again, thankfully they love school, and there are lots of fun supplies at Minted in their back to school shop.
I sent my 2 oldest back to school last week. Don’t forget to get the obligatory back to school photos! I only have one chalkboard sign. There was no way I could take photos, re-write their signs neatly, and get to school on time. I had them hold a blank sign this year. It was easy to add the text later with www.picmonkey.com.
Labels
Some children have a harder time then others when it comes to keeping track of their things. Do yourself a favor and label up all their supplies. I go label happy and make sure every glue stick, pencil box, folder, dictionary, steno pad, cup, and lunchbox has their information on it. Minted labels don’t have GPS tracking built into them yet, but that would be helpful. Labels most certainly help their belongings find their way back to our home when they get left behind. Minted labels are durable. They are even machine washable and dishwasher safe! I still have labels on their cups from last year that didn’t need to be replaced. They hold up great!
Journals
Minted has the cutest selection of journals. These work great for writing down daily homework assignments. If you have a creative writer, their journal will be a priceless (and cute) keepsake to look back at for years to come. Our kids like to bring their journals to church and take notes….or more often doodle. 🙂 I love how they are personalized on the front and inside of the cover.
Notes
I’ve read that teachers don’t really want another mug as a gift. This year I personalized notecards for each teacher. My daughter’s teacher was celebrating her birthday on the first day of school. Poor lady! haha. We gave her a box of personalized note cards. I hope I don’t get any notes home about my child misbehaving! Mental note that these make great birthday, Christmas, or teacher appreciation gifts. They are such nice quality with many stylish designs to personalize. You can also make personalized cards for your children. They have younger looking designs that are adorable.
Free Lunch Box Notes
Head on over to Minted for your free download of lunchbox notes. Aren’t they so cute? I don’t write notes to the kids every day, but I try to send them encouragement on days they might need it. They often reward me with a note back on the other side. Makes my day.
