Okay, let’s talk about babies and sleep. I know, I know, some of you are like, “Whaaaat, babies SLEEP?” But yes, at some point (even if it’s much less time than we would like) our sweet little angels do sleep. Of course, as parents we will do anything we can to make our babies as comfortable as possible so that they will sleep.
One way I’ve found to keep my little guy sleeping better is to make sure he is feeling warm and toasty in his bed (basically you have to hit the Goldilocks sweet spot – not too hot and not too cold). While keeping warm on winter nights is an easy feat for us adults, you can’t just add another blanket to your baby’s crib to keep them warm. Sadly, the wearable blankets and sleep sacks that I had found were little better than simply dressing my kiddo in a double layer of PJs – and it showed. My little guy’s creative solution to being too cold was to wake me every couple hours to snuggle until he was warm again. (Have I mentioned how much I enjoy sleeping?)
I was really struggling to find a safe and adequate solution to keep my baby warm when I was introduced to the
baby deedee sleep nest. As soon as I started reading the description it just ‘clicked’ and I knew that the sleep nest would be a perfect solution to my problem.
You see, much like a quilted duvet keeps us warm at night, the sleep nest is quilted wearable duvet blanket for our littles. We have been using the sleep nest for a few months now and my little guy no longer wakes from the cold. Yippee!!
While I usually put the sleep nest on my baby as part of our pre-bedtime or naptime routine, on those rare occasions where I need to get a sleeping baby into the
sleep nest it’s a breeze thanks to the shoulder snaps and reverse zipper up the front. That reverse zipper has also made it possible for me to perform diaper changes at night, in the dark, with a mostly sleeping baby, who then goes right back to bed.
We seriously love the baby deedee sleep nest around here and I can honestly say that this is THE sleep sack that I recommend for keeping babies happy during the cold winter months.

February 10, 2016 at 6:50 pmI had the same thoughts for my older two kiddos. They sleep sacks they had to use made them look like Maggie from The Simpsons when she’s wearing her coat. HA!
