With just over 3 weeks until my kids head back to school, we are in full-on Back To School shopping! I’ve sorted through the supply lists sent home by the teachers and made my lists — Items to Buy and Items to Reuse. See, in our house, school supplies (especially backpacks and lunch boxes) get used year after year until they are no longer usable.
This was a bit of a battle last year with my oldest daughter because, halfway through the school year, she decided she was not really into pink and princesses and, therefore, wanted a new backpack. Since the backpack was still in okay condition, she had to make due and come to terms that “pink” was not the end of the world (especially for only 3 more months of school).
Well, imagine her delight when I told her this Summer that we were retiring her old pink princess backpack and getting her a new one!
Except, shopping for backpacks with an 8 (“I’m going to be 9 this year mom!“) year old girl is not the easiest thing in the world! “No cartoon characters! No glitter! No pink! And it has to be fun!” Umm….
That’s when we decided to do some online shopping and I turned her towards Yak Pak.

She begs me almost daily if she can use her new backpack right now…to take for her gymnastics bag or on our next road trip. But here’s the other rule…no using Back To School supplies until school starts! Ha!

I went to the website and found that it wasn’t very user friendly. I clicked on the backpack heading and it showed me pics of four backpacks, but not way to view the prices or anything. Not an easy website to shop on.
