camp warner bros week 2 :: steven universe

Week 2 at Camp Warner Bros, we had fun with science, color mixing, learning patience and making a delicious treat for our Steven Universe: The Movie camp viewing party!  #CampWarnerBros has hosted yet another great week at camp.  It just so happens that we are still camping this week so it was like being at a real camp instead of a virtual camp.

My children love conducting experiments especially those that are editable.  We made Steven Universe’s “Crystal Gems” Candy for our featured movie.  If you have never made your own crystalized candy you are in for a treat.

The Science Behind The Fun:
As time passes (and the solution cools), the water will slowly evaporate from the solution. As the water evaporates, the solution will become more saturated with sugar. The sugar molecules will collect on the string, and the candy crystals will grow molecule by molecule!

Once our “Crystal Gems” Candy was ready my children cuddled up in my bed and watched Steven Universe :: The Movie on the iPad.  The best thing about Movies Anywhere is that we can watch them while we are camping in Pigeon Forge, TN.

After so many harrowing adventures, Steven and the Gems are ready to celebrate how far they’ve come with a movie musical! Little do they know they’re about to face their worst enemy yet.  This DVD is filled with numerous sing-a-longs to keep your children entertained all week as if you were sending them to music camp.

If you have never tried camping you should give it a try.  It was like the kids were really at camp this week with swimming, science, cooking, movies and field trips!
