I have to laugh at those diaper commercials on tv that show what a mom’s life is like with the first child versus what life is like when child #2 or #3 comes along. Because it’s like they’ve taken a page right out of my life.
When that first baby arrives, you do everything by the books. When child #2 or 3 arrives, you’re lucky if you can even find those books or those books are now being used as a make-shift booster seat for child #1.
When we had Abbi, our first born, I documented her first year with pictures of every stage, a baby book outlining her first and second year, cute little molds of her infant handprint and footprint. Then Zoe came along and I was estatic that I got most of her key stages caught on film and eventually put together a baby book. Then my sweet Talon came. Our third and last. And I realized the other day that he is 2.5 years old and I have not done any of that “baby memory” stuff!
Ugh!
