When I was a kid, we had three options for S’Mores — white marshmallow (not toasted), brown marshmallow (the perfect toasting), and black marshmallow (burnt). Regardless of how they turned out, we gobbled them down until our bellies were full and our hand and faces were covered in icky, sticky goodness!
While I still love me some traditional S’mores, I’m amazed at the creativity one can find (hello, Pinterest) when it comes to S’mores!
Tomorrow, August 11, is National S’mores Day and we’ve rounded up seven of the sweetest s’mores treats for you to celebrate!
1. S’mores with a simple candy bar twist

Trade in the traditional chocolate for one of your other favorite candy bars to satisfy that chocolate tooth! Think peanut butter cups or chocolate-caramel goodness! I love using the Ghiradelli Squares! Mmmmm….Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Escape….need I say more? Apparently I do, because you can also swap out those graham crackers for Ritz Crackers for some salty sweet yummies!
2. Fruity S’mores

This is where I rationalize that adding fruit makes my S’mores healthy. (I know, it’s not a very good argument.) Dress up those S’mores with your favorite fresh berries, kiwi, or bananas.
3. S’mores Cups

These are simply delicious! The perfect little S’mores bites! Grab the recipe at Cupcake Crusaders!
4. S’mores Pops

A perfect way to enjoy the S’mores goodness without getting icky, sticky hands. Also great for little kids or parties, although I can’t guarantee little hands and faces still won’t get sticky. Because I have 3 kids and I’m pretty sure they will manage to get messy with whatever I give them! This deliciousness can be found on the Food Network.
5. S’mores Cupcakes

6. S’mores in a Cup

The perfect dessert for a Summer get-together without the campfire! Check out this recipe from Cooking with Carrie!
