coconut water and more from blue monkey :: review

Blue Monkey logoFor the past couple months I have been on a total coconut kick. Drinking coconut water, snacking on dried coconut flakes, mmm… coconutty! It was rather serendipitous when I received a package from Blue Monkey last week with some of their new coconut products to try out and share with our readers.

I’ve occasionally seen various coconut water, coconut juice, and/or juice blends from Blue Monkey on the shelves at local shops or while traveling so I was vaguely familiar with their name but I had not ever seen their Coconut Chips or Instant Coconut Water Mix.

Blue Monkey Instant Coconut Water Mix packagingInstant Coconut Water Mix is a pretty amazing concept. I don’t know what is more simple, the ingredient list (sugar, spray dried coconut, & salt) or the instructions to make the Instant Coconut Water Mix (add one premeasured packet to 16 oz. of cold water and shake).

A great way to take your coconut water anywhere, especially if you’re very much on-the-go or traveling. The packets are the perfect size to slip into a pocket or purse and I suggest that you grab a couple packets of Blue Monkey Instant Coconut Water Mix to bring on your holiday travels with the three listed ingredients instead of a soda or other mystery beverage.

While I’ve always been a fan of coconut in its many forms it was not until recently that I’ve discovered the joy of simply snacking on coconut chips. Extremely crunchy and a little salty, I like to eat the Blue Monkey Coconut Chips by the handful or add them to yogurt.

Blue Monkey Coconut Chips packagingThe Coconut Chips collection has stretched my horizons even further with their Wasabi Flavor and Ginger Flavor Coconut Chips. Let me be up front and share that these are flavors that I will never personally be snacking on by the handful, however, both my husband and I agreed that these were perfectly seasoned Coconut Chips.  Personally, I think that either flavor would be a great crunchy topping on an Asian salad.

All three Coconut Chips varieties are 100% natural, preservative-free, GMO free, and the regular Coconut Chips (no added flavor) is also Gluten-free.  If I was preggo and suffering from morning sickness I’d personally give the toasted coconut Ginger Flavor Coconut Chips a try over a lollipop any day. Look for these products at your local grocer, or try any of the stores local to you listed HERE.

Instant Coconut Water Mix :: $8.42 for a 200 gram package (single serving packet is 20 grams)
Coconut Chips :: $3.50 – $5.00 a bag, available in a pack of 24 on Amazon.com for $84.39
