A friend shared this idea with me and l love it. Create an email for your child now (or when they are born) and give them the password when they are old enough to have email. Not only are you reserving an email for your child (so they aren’t stuck with Jack123456million@blahblahblah.com), but you have a really special gift for your child when they are older.
There’s going to be email 18 years from now, right? Send them a quick email about the cute or kind thing they said to you that day, tell them how proud you are on their Kindergarten graduation, send photos, etc. You can also give their email to their grandparents or other people that they would like to hear from. When they are old enough to have email, give them their password and maybe a tissue?
P.S. Don’t forget to write down the password. You are going to be up to 18 years more forgetful when you are ready to give them their password.
