One thing that so easily falls to the wayside as a busy mom is looking your best. There are days when I am so wrapped up in what my kids are eating, wearing, playing with, etc. that I forget that I need to take care of me. The best gift I can give my kids is to love myself and love how I look so that I can project that love onto them. And what better way to take pride in your appearance than with a beauty regimen that consists of great products at a great price? I was recently asked to “trade in my beauty bag” for one week and try CVS/pharmacy brand products instead of my usual ones.
Here’s what I got to try:
CVS brand dry shampoo
CVS brand make-up remover cleansing cloth towelettes
CVS brand oil free eye makeup remover
CVS brand deep moisturizing body wash
CVS brand ultra sheer sunscreen (ok, I live in Michigan so I wasn’t really able to test this one out but I can’t wait to try it this summer!)
CVS brand spray moisturizer, cocoa radiant
Of all the products, I was most excited to try out the dry shampoo. No matter the weather, the amount of sleep I get, or how deep my head is buried in my pillow, I wake up with an oily mess of hair. It has long been the bane of my existence. But with this magical spray concoction, I was able to make my greasy head look fresh and clean. And let’s be honest here: some days there is just no time for a shower. But that doesn’t mean it should show, right?
My second favorite is the cocoa radiant spray moisturizer. First of all, it smells AMAZING. Secondly, spraying stuff onto yourself is just plain fun. The fact that it also leaves your skin feeling soft and lovely is just an added bonus. No more goopy lotion – just spray and go!
And then, at the end of the day, once the kids are in bed and you have settled down with a good book and a glass of wine, you can restore your natural beauty by using CVS brand makeup removers. I don’t do foundation but both the towelettes and the liquid makeup removers I tried worked wonderfully on my eye makeup. See?
The best part about these great CVS/pharmacy products is that they cost 20-30% less than their name brand competitors. And we could all stand to save a few bucks…..especially if you still get the same quality you would from the more expensive products. So I guess the question is: will YOU take the CVS/pharmacy brand beauty challenge? (Answer: why not?? Do yourself a favor and check out all of the great beauty products CVS/pharmacy has to offer!)
