What little boy doesn’t love trucks? Fire trucks, dump trucks, monster trucks… any trucks really! I know my little guy is obsessed right now with anything that makes a manly Vroom-VROOM sound, and if something doesn’t make noise on its own, he will gladly improvise with sound effects of his own. I love watching him sputter his trucks around the carpet while weaving in and out of imaginary tunnels made of chair legs or coffee tables.
I think this is why I am so excited to tell you about a new Christian books series for little boys called Building God’s Kingdom from Tommy Nelson! My son absolutely LOVED reading Diggit Saves the Day and Tipper Tells a Lie. Both of these stories teach important life lessons from the perspective of animated construction trucks. They are told in a simple format that is easy for children to understand. It never ceases to amaze me at how sensitive children’s spirits are when it comes to things of the Lord! They get it… in their child-like faith, they GET it!! And it’s never too early to start teaching them values 🙂
Diggit Saves the Day:
It’s time to get to work! The trucks have gotten their assignment and are ready to build! But they come across a surprise—a tiny squirrel named Earl who has lost his way. How will they do their jobs andhelp Earl find is way home? Dozer, Diggit, Stretch, and Tipper must use their special traits and work together to help Earl and to bring glory to God.
Tipper Tells a Lie:
It’s time to get to work! The trucks have gotten their assignment and are ready to build! But as they prepare to head to the construction site, Tipper tells a lie. And Tipper’s lie catches up with him . . . How will they do their jobs and learn about why God says it’s so important to be honest? Dozer, Diggit, Stretch, and Tipper must use their special traits and work together to get their job done and bring glory to God.
Parents will love this fun story that helps kids learn about honesty and telling the truth.
There are few faith-based books aimed at boys. This new inspirational brand for little boys resonates with the hot construction trend such as Where Do Diggers Sleep At Night? and Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. Construction and trucks remain an evergreen interest with boys, making these books strong standalone titles.

January 28, 2015 at 3:40 pmHow do you make your kids feel like they’re an important part of God’s kingdom?
I remind my boys of God’s promises and faithfulness. We also include them in as many mission opportunities as possible. Even thought they are very young, I want them to grow up serving others in the name of the Lord.
