My son is obsessed with Nerf Guns! For his sixth birthday he wants to have a Nerf War Birthday Party! Since he is the ‘Birthday Boy’ I’ve decided he needs a special Nerf {Inspired} Ammo Belt so that he can stand out. I actually had everything on hand to sew this Nerf {Inspired} Ammo Belt. If you sew I’m sure you have everything on hand as well. This Simple DIY is so easy anyone can make this!! The hardest part about this DIY is holding down the reverse button while I sew in reverse.
Supplies:
- Nerf Bullets
- 1″ Elastic
- Old woven belt
- Matching thread for belt and elastic
- Sewing Machine
Step 1: The first thing you need to do is cut your elastic. I fastened the belt and used the length of the belt to measure my elastic. I should have allowed for more in order to cover the entire front. I used matching green thread to thread through my needle and black for the bobbin.
Step 2: Next, you need to secure your elastic to your belt using your #4 zigzag setting. If you choose you can pin your elastic in place before you sew if you are not very experienced.
Step 3: You need a Nerf Bullet to use as a guide get it as close as you can to the zipper foot and remove the bullet before you begin sewing. I used my #0 setting for my thread and used my reverse button to secure the elastic. Continue this process until you get to the end of your elastic. Then repeat Step #2.
Make sure you check back next week to see how the Nerf {Inspired} Birthday Party turns out! I might have some more DIY’s, but I’m not sure yet. We are currently working on the battle field using all of our pallets.
What do you think of this Nerf {Inspired} Ammo Belt?
