Sometimes I do long workouts on machines, whether its on a treadmill or an elliptical…depending on my mood of course. Sometimes, I need something to take my mind off of the task at hand. Here are 4 things to do while working out on treadmills or ellipticals ::
- Pop on a good movie. I have been known to DVR some classic romantic comedies that makes my husband scratch his head. Yes, I love them…but don’t those just keep your attention so good? 🙂
- Head to the store for a good magazine. You can’t ever get bored reading a good magazine. And what I found, pick up a SELF or Health magazine and it will push you to go farther looking at all those “fit” people. LOL!
- Start a book series. If you are coordinated enough that is to hold a book while working out. You can even do book on tape – those are awesome!
- Start a television series. Sign up for Hulu or Netflix and let the fun begin! I started watching a television show while I was training for a half marathon – and honestly it kept me consistent to get working out because I wanted to see the show! LOL!
All in all, I’m sure you can find something to do if you DO get bored. Don’t let that be an excuse for you to not work out. Your body will thank you later!
What do you do when working out – you know, other than sweating of course 🙂
