Helped into popularity by the various Doc McStuffins birthday gifts Miss M’s recently received, playing Doc McStuffins has become one of the favorite make-believe games my girls enjoy entertaining themselves with lately. I find this even more amusing as we do not have cable television and they’ve only ever seen maybe 2 episodes of the Disney Junior cartoon.
In continuing with their love of all things Doc McStuffins my little toy testers had a great time playing the Doc McStuffins All Better! Game from Wonder Forge the other night. Before I explain the game let me just clarify that you don’t have to be a Doc McStuffins fan to appreciate this game, I am very certain that my girls would have loved playing even if they had never seen an episode of the cartoon.
The game comes with a spinner, 8 scoring tiles, the game rules, a storage bag (which is awesome!), 6 slap bracelet bandages, and 6 foam tools. Each player takes a turn with the spinner and either puts one of the slap bracelet bandages on another player or uses their memory to attempt a match between one of the slap bracelet bandages being worn and a foam tool.
If a match is made between the chosen foam tool and the bracelet “boo boo” they attempted to fix the player earns a scoring tile. If it was not a match everyone gets to see the item on the bandage again and the bandage is left where it was.
My girls LOVED (oh yes, all caps on that one) being able to gently put the slap bracelet bandages on each other. Arms, legs, and feet were all fair play and it was fun to see their faces light up when they remembered what bandage and tool matched.
As a mom I am excited that the foam tools are so sturdy! At about ½ inch thickness they really will hold up to hours of play, and everything fits into the doctor bag themed storage bag for clean up and storage. Plus, after one run through with parental guidance on learning the rules my girls are now able to play on together on their own!
