For years we have used a sound machine with our youngest children to help drown out household noises. And while I always enjoyed that white noise through the baby monitor, I never really looked into getting my own sound machine or one for my older children since we all tend to go to bed at times when the house is much quieter.
But I have always struggled with having difficulty going to sleep and staying asleep. Small noises wake me up and I have a terrible time getting back to sleep. So I decided to try a sound machine made for me–not my baby. The DreamScience Brainwave Sleep Companion was developed for adults and older children with the goal of improving sleep quality by helping you get to sleep, have more restful sleep and wake up feeling refreshed.
Did you know that sounds can help your brain sleep more soundly and wake more easily? I had no idea that there was clinically proven research about this kind of thing! But the DreamScience Brainwave Sleep Companion uses clinically-proven brainwave embedded sounds that were developed by a PhD who has spent time researching the role of music in rehabilitation of ADHD and stress management. There are 20 different soundscapes on this sound machine or you can choose to plug in your own device/music if you prefer. Distractions and stress top my list of why I can’t sleep and I love having an option that does not involve taking any kind of sleep aid. Not only does the DreamScience Brainwave Sleep Companion help you sleep better, it can also wake you up using the same brainwave technology. Just set the alarm and choose a soundscape to wake up to.
My daughter was the first to try the DreamScience Brainwave machine. She can have a hard time winding down at night and having restful sleep, so she was so excited to try this! She loved it so much I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to get it back from her to try it for myself! When my husband and I were able to give it a try in our room, we quickly grew to love the “hard rain” noise and I still use it every night! I love drifting off to a white noise and I think it helps me stay asleep instead of waking up with each little noise. If you’re like me, anything to get more sleep is worth it!
