During Spring Break we went with another family to Walt Disney World. We stayed at a house in Kissimmee, Florida instead of staying at Disney. This way we were able to stay longer and enjoy Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot more. It has been close to 40 years since I have been to Disney and didn’t think I would remember anything, but to my surprise I did. This may be our only trip we ever make as a family, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I must say one of my favorite rides was the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. When you enter the studio you have posters that pick up your personal information from your “Magic Bands” to make the experience more personal. If you read the poster below it is informing us that my daughter has an upcoming concert. Magic Bands make Disney so much easier. You can load money, tickets, and scan for photos all with this band.
Unfortunately, characters were still not taking picture with guests, but I thought this was the best example of possible photos with some of the Disney characters. Who better than Chip and Dale to take a picture with my son.
Epcot had beautiful gardens and Snow White and the Dwarfs were my favorite. If you have never been to Disney, Epcot is a great family experience that exposes your child to all the diverse cultures and food from the different countries. There are only a few rides, but is mostly about the food in different countries. They have a great laser show before closing so check and make sure when you book they will have the show at the end of the night. I wish we had known in advance about how incredible this show was and I would have gotten better seats to enjoy it.
I would most definitely get the Disney PhotoPass to document your time in Disney. If you get the PhotoPass all you have to do is scan your Magic Band and have your pictures taken everywhere you see a photographer. The one tip I can give you is prepare for Disney by walking as much as possible leading up to your trip. We only spent three days at Disney and four days around Orlando we ended up walking 27.77 miles during our trip. Another tip I would give is go during cooler months like April it wasn’t too dreadfully hot.
