After the birth of her daughter, Carolina, Karla learned the importance of good nutrition. From a family of Miami-based and Puerto Rican food lovers, Karla began to “flip” recipes, replacing unhealthy ingredients with gluten-free, organic, and higher-quality ones.
Each FlipBox includes an easy to follow recipe card, with pre-measured dry and mostly organic ingredients plus mini baking supplies to encourage your children to bake with you. Their recipes also include a section for allergy friendly ingredients. Unfortunately, my daughter has an egg and dairy allergy so it is very helpful for OurFlipSideOfLife to include suggestions. Have you ever read the ingredients on a cake box if not, most pre-made packages have milk or egg in them.
My daughter is eight and loves to bake! When she helps me bake I have her read the recipe, and measure out all the ingredients. I’m just there for moral support, double check her measurements and safety. This way I am able to see how much she can do without my help. I did melt the chocolate chips, but instead of using a boiler I used a Mason Jar. If you have ever read any of my posts you know that I love Mason Jars and their multiple uses.
When it was time to add the frosting it was still in liquid form so my daughter poured it onto the baked cake. This was a great baking experience for her, and she loved that the ingredients were designed for children with allergies. I love trying pre-made recipe packages that include most or all the ingredients you will need to create a recipe.
Would your daughter enjoy this baking kit?
