When it’s cold and snowy outside and the kids are driving you nuts, what do you do? I try to find things for them to do and wear them out. This is one thing I struggle with when winter hits. Sometimes, it’s just too darn cold to send them outside to play in the snow.
I wanted to share with you three fun things you can do inside, if you are not able to go outside and play in the winter. This mama gets cold when they want to play outside for a long period of time, or it is just too plain cold for them to be out.
- Bring the SNOW inside. I found a couple ways to have fun with snow inside. Check it out over at growing a jeweled rose. This is definitely something you can totally do and it won’t be too messy and the kids would love it. Painting the snow looks pretty fun, I think I would join in on that one.
- DIY playdough – I found my favorite recipe over at Modern Parents Messy Kids. The colors are vibrant and looks easy to make. This would keep the kids busy for hours, don’t you think?
- Trampoline park – AirTime Trampoline Park! We just recently had one open up in our area (Grand Rapids, MI) and we got to try it out. With it being so cold and all wintery here in Michigan, we spent some time at AirTime over Christmas vacation.
There is so many different things you can do at airtime, the kids will be busy for the whole hour that you are there. Unless you decide to stay longer, you can certainly do that. The kids has so much fun going from one activity to the other. They couldn’t try everything fast enough. Now, this is like your regular trampoline park, it has several other activities they others didn’t have. Such as a rock climbing wall. She could have spent all day doing this. Up and down. Four people can do it at a time and it isn’t nice because it has all the safety features you would be looking for.
Airtime is definitely something we will be doing again in the future. It was clean and fun. The kids loved it. There were several other areas there such as dodgeball, obstacle course and balance beam. All while one whole side of the room was nothing but trampolines. Something to keep everyone busy.
