four things to do before winter strikes…the comfort every family deserves

Winter is coming and we need to be prepared.  Dealing with furnaces, in Columbus, they have a great company to help. What are some of things you do around your home to prepare for winter?  Since, we have a fairly new house we want to keep it nice for many years to come.  Here are four things you can do before winter:

  • Change your furnace filter – this should really be done every three months, so change it with the seasons.  Easy way to remember
  • Put on your storm door instead of your screen door and take your screens off your windows.  Snow tends to get stuck in these screens, possibly keeping it colder in those areas and using more heat.
  • Winterize your lawn mower – Get a tune up for it and get it ready to store for winter
  • Get your heating checked – You don’t want to go into winter and have your heating crap out on you
