mucinex-B001JHYPGS-logoThis time of year is the most common time for children and other to get sick.  I know I am always getting notes in my son’s backpack stating someone was sick and what it was, so we can be on the lookout.  When these types of notes come home, I like to ramp up the prevention methods in the house.mucinex
Here are 4 easy ways to prevent getting the sickies in your house:
  1. Wash hands! An easy way to prevent a lot of things.  Washing hands after sneezing and blowing your nose will help from spreading the germs.
  2. Elderberry Syrup!  This is super easy to make and easy to take. Here is a link to homemade elderberry syrup.  You can also take this everyday not just when exposed.
  3. Multi-vitamins! are very beneficial in prevention as well. Take them daily!
  4. Eat healthy!  Eat the foods that help prevent getting sick. Homemade chicken stock is a great to stock up on. As well as, garlic and eating other fruits and veggies.

Now tell me what you use to prevent getting sick on your home!

If all my methods fail and we still get sick, we turn to Mucinex when it’s really bad.  This always helps relieve the symptoms quickly for my kids.

I agree with the above and would like to add spicy foods help the nose drain and if kids are above the age of 2, honey works well to stifle the coughing. I used Mucinex for my last big cold and within a day, my symptoms were decreased. The kind I had was the the Extra Strength.
