**All information below is subject to change without notice or update of this post — we hope this list helps you find some fun things to do with your family! It’s always good to confirm details, and we included links as much as we could!**

With Halloween falling on a Monday this year, it has a lot of parents checking out WHEN their respective town will be doing trick or treating. I am working on researching the times that the towns will have trick or treating, but in the middle of all this, I found some fun things to do for the month too in Grand Rapids and West Michigan.

Trunk or Treat + other fun Opportunities ::

Zoo Goes Boo Event at John Ball Zoo :: you have some opportunities to do so on 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 & 30…all taking place from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Read more about that HERE.

Ada Village :: Families with children: join us in #adavillage on Sunday, October 30 from 4-6P for fun and safe trick-or-treating! Kids will enjoy candy, popcorn, cotton candy, carnival games, a bounce house and ghost stories all compliments of local sponsors!

Famous Pumpkin Train ::  This is a Fall tradition that is not to be missed! Passengers are entertained during the journey by THE GRAND PUMPKIN, SCARECROW & LITTLE CROW! Local actress Eva Switek and her cast of wacky characters love to sing and dance for you. Each paid child’s ticket includes a free, locally grown, good-sized Pumpkin that the kids can pick from our Pumpkin Patch at the end of the ride. Children under 2 yrs ride free and also get a small size Pumpkin. Adults $17.50; Senior $16.50; Children (2-12) $15.50; Under 2 FREE.

Heidi’s Corn Maze fun & more: We go here EVERY year! We just love this place. It’s big enough to keep busy, but not SO big you get tired. The Corn Maze is THE best, my kids talk about it every year. Help solve the mystery! Farmer Joe’s pie is missing. We need you to find out who dunit. Six of the animals took off through the corn maze with stolen pie. Was it the llama, the horse, or the pig? Navigate through the cornmaze to find all the tracks, then match up the prints to all the animals who are guilty of pie thievery. Solve the mystery and earn an FSI badge. $6.00 per Adult; $4.50 per Child (ages 3-13); $25.00 per Family; Children under 3 are free. Parents are free with their children in the Children’s Maze. The corn maze will be open every Friday and Saturday night in October. You can enter the maze until 9 pm. Doing the maze during the day is a lot of fun, but going through it at night adds a whole new element to the fun! Our maze is family friendly so there is nothing “haunted” about our night maze. Bring a flashlight and enjoy the challenge!

Post Family Farms:

Sietsma Orchards:

Klackles in Greenville:

Robinette’s:

Fruit Ridge Hay Rides, Corn Maze & Attractions: There’s a lot to do here! Good old-fashioned fun is what the fall havest season is all about at our 130 year old fruit farm! Huge draft horses pull wagons full of enchanted guests through the woods and around our scenic farm. Pumpkins and apples are ripe for picking, and guests can enjoy a wide range of activities and treats such as our giant corn maze, our friendly farm animals, rides, fresh apple cider, homemade donuts, and much more!

Murder Mystery Company: We will actually be sharing more about this later in the month, we will be going! Join mystery experts for a Murder at the Masquerade and solve a “Clue”-style mystery while you enjoy a three-course meal with friends. Pietro’s Italian Restaurant at 2780 Birchcrest SE. $60.

    Hi Shannon,

I’m hoping you could tell me or point me in a good direction of when the Halloween trick or treating might be for Plainwell area? This is the first year trick or treating in Plainwell and I’ve only seen something mentioning last year as Oct 31 until 9 pm. But that was a weekend day. Can you please email me or my boyfriend if you find details! Dennisnicole01@gmail.Com and Joshua.Gauthier1@gmail.com. Thank you so much!
