Confession :: The last time my husband and I actually went out on Valentine’s Day was in 2005. NINE years ago! And we won’t be going out this year either.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not looking for sympathy or guilting anyone in to babysitting for free (although that’s totally up for discussion), because I know we’re in the same boat as many parents of little kids. And I can’t let you be fooled into thinking that we’re just sitting at home moping. Because, we’re not.
Some years we’ve gone out to dinner as a family {yes, we were that family, totally ruining the romantic vibe as we dined with our small children} and some years we’ve done some sort of dinner at home. Regardless of what our plans are, I always try to make the evening fun and a little romantic. Mostly that means opting for an outfit that doesn’t include my yoga pants and putting on more makeup than just some powder and mascara. I know, I am wild and crazy like that!
This year I’m jazzing up the ol’ makeup with the help from my friends at EcoTools!
EcoTools creates these amazing eco-friendly cosmetic brushes that feature bamboo handles and amazingly soft synthetic bristles. They also carry an entire line of lashes called Naturally Beautiful Lash System. Now, I’ll be honest…fake lashes scare the bejeebuzz out of me! I’ve worn them once and loved them. But there’s something about the idea of them that makes me afraid I’ll look like I have tarantula eyes or that they’ll fall off when I’m speaking to someone really important.
But EcoTools Lashes are amazing. Not only are the lashes themselves hypo-allergenic and safe for everyday wear, but the lash glue (included) is paraben free, phthalate free, latex free, formaldehyde free, and cruelty free…unless you poke yourself in the eye…then I guess that one’s your own fault. Either way, the EcoTools Lashes ($5.99) really do look amazing on! And, with the little tools included, they are actually pretty easy to put on!
What I really love about EcoTools, aside from their lovely products, is that they offer a variety of ‘How-To’ videos that walk you through how to achieve amazing looks! I loved the Eye-conic video because it really shows how easy it is to wear the Naturally Beautiful Lash System lashes and create a fun smokey-eye look, perfect for a certain night tonight!
Whether you’re looking to expand your makeup tool kit or you’re looking to just get started, EcoTools is a great source! I’d personally recommend the Day to Night Set if you’re just looking to get started. At just $16.99, it’s the perfect kit with all the brushes you’ll need (concealer brush, powder brush, lip/liner brush, shadow brush and smudge brush) and makes a perfect little travel set with the included case!
Ok all you gorgeous ladies, whether you’re serving a ‘romantic’ dinner of mac & cheese to the whole family tonight or you’re heading out on the town with your sweetheart, EcoTools hopes you feel as beautiful as you are! So, to get you ready for your next night out (or in), we have a fun giveaway {below} to help make your look really pop!
Oh, and be sure to check out their website now through February 21 for 25% off on select EcoTools products!
