getting ready for the most wonderful time of year {#IC #MC #TweetFromTheSeat}

Whoa. Christmas is next week. NEXT WEEK y’all!! I can’t even wrap my brain around this. My husband and I were talking last night about this. We are both in the “toy industry” and our whole year’s work culminates about now. The year flew. Not only for us, but for so many others!! At this time of year, it’s really hard to not get sucked in to the busyness. From Christmas parties (multiple parties for many) to the shopping, to the deals that one thinks we need…the list goes on! But you know what, my favorite thing about this time of year is the time spent with family. It’s what we see on Facebook about family flying in to surprise a family member whom they didn’t think they were going to see this year. It’s the new parents celebrating their brand new baby and his/her first Christmas. It’s the family that didn’t think they were going to have anything this year to give their children until they were blessed with some gifts by some unknown person or group of people. It’s that. That is what this year is all about to me! The entertaining family members and blessing others.

We don’t have a whole lot of family that travels in from a distance around the holidays, nor do we have to travel very far. We lucked out with that! However, we have family close by and that means each and every year, there is a chance we will be hosting a holiday – whether it’s a full on party or just a small gathering. And with all the entertaining, have you found yourself forgetting some of the MOST crucial parts of a holiday party? Outside of the fabulous Christmas cookies (YUM!!), I’m talking about the TP. Whoa – that’s not something that can be missed, am I right? We had this happen about a week ago, we forgot to fill our cupboards and had NONE! My husband had to rush off and get some. Now, I am typically the TP purchaser in our home, but we didn’t have the time for me to run out to grab some and still get everything  done that had to get done in our house. What was my recommendation for him, so that I could assure our guests wouldn’t be wiping with cardboard? Charmin.
