With this month’s release of Apple’s new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, I’ve had lots of conversations with friends and family about the “smartphone shuffle”. You may have had this conversation in your house, too. It goes something like this.
husband: “I would really like to upgrade our current phones to the new iPhone 6.”
wife: “Well, of course! It only makes sense. We both upgrade and pass our current phones down to Janey and Billy. I mean, honestly, they really should have their own phones now for emergencies and so we can stay in contact with them. It really is the smartest thing we could do. We’re really only upgrading for them.”
Ok, maybe I exaggerate a little but you get the gist of it 🙂
Now, I have no doubt that your kids are going to be over-the-moon thrilled to have your old phone. After all, it’s now *their* phone. And that’s pretty big stuff! But you can earn even more “Awesome Parent Points” with a little thing called Skinit!
Skinit makes these really fun skins and cases for all of your devices (smartphones, tablets, computers, gaming devices). And “really fun” doesn’t even begin to describe them! The have one of the largest design bases I’ve ever seen for skins and cases. Superheroes? Check! Sports teams? Check! Every design you could imagine? Check. And, if for some reason you can’t find a design you love, you can always design your own!
So, last week I got to earn “Awesome Aunt Points” and surprise my two nieces with their very own Skinits! (Their parents are getting new phones and, thus, the “smartphone shuffle” was happening.) The girls were thrilled with the opportunity to personalize their hand-me-down phones to truly make them their own. And that’s exactly what they did!
I let them loose on Skinit.com to find the perfect skin that fit their personality. And they nailed it!
Art-deco design for my art-loving teen niece and the cutesy penguin for the pre-teen.
We loved how the skins were super easy to install and their parents love that the skins add a nice layer of protection on the phones! And, at just $14.99, they are a really affordable option for some customization and fun!
But don’t worry, mom & dad, you can still get in on the Skinit fun with your fancy new phones because Skinit now offers skins for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus!!!
And, even if you’re not participating in the great “smartphone shuffle” this fall, you still have plenty of opportunities to do some fun Fall customization on your devices. As I said before, Skinit offers skins for a variety of smartphones, laptops, tablets, iPods, XBox One, 3DS, PS4 and more.
So, whether it’s a little added fun for your kids or fun for you, let your personality show with Skinit cases and skins!

October 4, 2014 at 7:18 amWe do the phone shuffle in our home too. Hubby got a new phone for work so I inherited his Blackberry. I don’t really need a phone and, surprisingly, our daughter(9) isn’t asking for one.
I LOVE my iPad and recently got a new cover for it. The cover is high-quality and works but it’s plain. I would have preferred a prettier design. My daughter’s iPad is long overdue for a new cover. She has put stickers all over the cover of her iPad and laptop so I know she’d love a Skinit to reflect her personality.
I browsed the site and loved the flourish and paisley patterns for myself. My daughter would enjoy creating her own, I’m sure.

September 25, 2014 at 11:59 pmEven though I don’t have a cellphone, I have my Ipod Touch 4 that I love and I am also very into personalizing things to match my mood, personality, holidays, seasons etc…. so I was happy to see they have skins for my Ipod Touch 4 too! Thanks for the review or I wouldn’t have even known! I was surprised how many pages of selection they have to choose from too!
