gourmet du village :: dip baker

Today was a dreary, rainy, chilly day in Michigan and I desperately needed some warm & tasty comfort food after running herd on my crazy children all day.  The perfect excuse to try out my new Gourmet du Village Cranberry Red Dip Baker!

First I have to say that this was the perfect cheesy dinner, I know it’s supposed to be an appetizer, but….  I made it into dinner & LOVED it! Even 2 hours later and cold on the counter my hubby said it was tasty as he had a couple spoonfuls on the toasted multi-grain baguette slices made to go with it.  Now, to put this in perspective, he usually isn’t a big fan of anything primarily cheese based so that’s saying a lot!

All the Dip Bakers each come with the Gourmet du Village Leek & Onion Dip Mix.  All I had to do was add some Gruyere cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and cream cheese to the dip mix packet, stir it, bake it and devour it!  The Leek & Onion Dip Mix was about 3 cups once all the ingredients were mixed and it all fit perfectly into the Dip Baker.

These porcelain Dip Bakers are dishwasher and microwave safe (YAY for easy clean up!) and you can even use the Dip Baker as a large Brie Baker, to reheat leftovers in the microwave, or even to cook small casseroles in.

Another home run from Gourmet du Village and another great idea to use this upcoming holiday season as you need to find a gift for your favorite hostess, or to just help make everyone think you spent a lot more time than you actually did prepping for your own party.  I’m already thinking of the family gatherings I’ll need to bring something to the next couple months and adding a couple extra dip mixes in to make sure I’m set on the next rainy, dreary, ‘need to eat some warm tasty cheese’ kind of night.
