This recipe is the most fattening way to eat grapes. Well, maybe deep frying them would be worse. It’s also the most terrific way to eat grapes. I’ve not met a single person that doesn’t like this grape salad recipe. I’ve shared this recipe in the past, but it’s time to be reminded about it and I updated a few of the photos.
This recipe is great if you are serving a crowd. You can make it easily the day before, and it makes lots. You can put it in a 9×13 pan, layer in a trifle bowl, or serve it in your favorite bowl. The main thing is the brown sugar and optional pecan topping gets on everybody’s serving. The texture is fantastic.
- 2 lbs. of grapes (tarter the better)
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 4 oz. sour cream
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- pecans (optional)
- Soften the cream cheese in the microwave and mix together cream cheese, sour cream, 2 Tablespoons brown sugar, and vanilla.
- Add your washed grapes and stir together.
- Spread out the grape salad in a 9x13 in. pan.
- Top with remaining brown sugar. (optional) - top with pecans too
Whatever you do, don’t forget the brown sugar! Re-apply before serving if it melts.
