I had a farm set growing up, and it was a memorable part of my childhood. My sister and I played with it for hours, and once we were teenagers, it was one of the few toys that was saved for children who came to visit. I recently discovered this farm set from Green Toys, and my son has already been enjoying it!
There are a few things that set Green Toys apart from other toy companies:
- The toys are made from 100% recycled plastic – mostly milk cartons! We can all agree that’s cool, and it makes me feel better about my insatiable milk drinking habit, which is a story for another time. The packaging is made from 100% recycled cardboard – no cellophane, etc.
- They are manufactured, assembled, and distributed right here in the USA. I love that, because most (all?) of my son’s other toys are manufactured in a country beginning with the letter “C”.
- No glue, metal, screws or paint.
- They are bright, fun, and they don’t cut corners on the details.
They also have a fire station play set and lots of trucks, planes, boats, and cars. They have a group of toys called “kitchen play“. Their toys for young babies would make a great baby shower gift, and there are a variety of bath toys too. Green Toys also makes outdoor toys – a sand play set, watering can, and a jump rope. I love the concept of making toys out of recycled materials right here in the USA.
What value do you place on where a toy is made?

They have all of the classics like planes, trains, trucks and farm sets and some cool bells and whistles too. One of the most played with toys of our daughter’s is a pink and purple dump truck from them that she still takes to the park to play with in the sandbox. Their toys sure do last! We’re big fans.
