Apple picking! Yep… we are soaking up everything that fall has to offer! It is a favorite time of year for our family, and we are taking advantage of all the beautiful fall colors, freshly harvest produce and spontaneous trips to the apple orchard.
I may have been a little over zealous and convinced my hubby we needed a bushel of apples. I did not realize QUITE how many apples were in a bushel, but we had a ton of fun picking them and made a memory that will last the rest of our lives… oh and did I mention we now have a bunch of homemade applesauce canned for the winter season? 🙂 You can read how to make this VERY simple crock-pot applesauce recipe HERE. Once you try making applesauce yourself, you will wonder why you ever bought the store stuff in the first place!

October 9, 2014 at 7:59 amWow your pictures are really great. Looks like you had a lot of fun. I just heard that many of the So Cal apple orchards had slim pickings due to our drought.
