handmade western boots, styled three different ways + blogger collaboration & giveaway

Here we are again, I’m really excited to bring you this installation in my collaboration with my friend Erin over at Home with the Boys! She is a fellow fashion lover, but she is a mom to three boys and, as you know, I’m a mom to four girls! We thought it would be fun to show you how we view style from two different perspectives – a girl mom and a boy mom. Growing up, we lived in the country. For fun, we would….get creative. That included lots of questionable things in the outdoors, fields, horse corrals, etc. As I got older, our fun moved to country line dancing bars, bonfires and so on. Yes, I’m THAT country…and had SO much fun. Since having babies though, things have changed and the extracurricular activities are much different.

Fast forward to today. I still love to have fun out in the country, but I need to bring the country to my real life too. And to me that means footwear! I need some good, cute, predictable and sustainable footwear to get me through the day. I was recently introduced to Tecovas and oh. em. gee. Amazing!! I hopped right on it and started thinking of ways I could easily add these short western boots to my current wardrobe. I wanted to share that with you today…

But, quickly, before I do that, I wanted to share with you WHY Tecovas! They are SO MUCH MORE than cool footwear. For starters, they are handmade, each and every pair, in León, Mexico, the shoe making capital of the world! They are there, alongside many reputable brands. I share this because they are able to sell top-quality, HANDMADE boots at honest prices and direct to consumer. Bye-bye to the markups that come along and make it more expensive for us consumers.

Not only do they have a good business model, but their quality product is shown with all the time they have spent in creating it. From what I can tell, they just launched in 2015 after spending many months developing the fit as well as a custom leather…which in turn makes these the most comfortable boots! And let’s talk style for a quick second. They skipped all the crazy colors and blinged out leather, studs, etc. and focused on simple, classic styles. These boots are an investment that will last in your closet for years and years to come without the worry of whether they will go out of date or not!

I know, I’ve totally sold you on the company, SO let’s see how we can get these boots on YOUR feet and talk about a few ways to style them. I opted for the shorter boots, because I think they tend to go with my lifestyle a bit better.

Fun dress, leather moto jacket and short, black western boots. I added the necklace for a little bit “extra” if you will…making it a great outfit for going out with my handsome hubby.

PTO meeting/dance mom meeting.
I like to look put together most days, it makes me feel focused and presentable. So I’m always on the look out for things that are free flowing and non restricting. A tunic top and leggings combined with a denim jacket and a long necklace made this outfit perfect for what I need to do. The black boots at a fun twist to a typical outfit. Sure, I could do other options, but I think the boots make this pop. Plus, COMFORT-city!!

Casual and collected.
