As the end of summer draws ever nearer I’ve noticed that my family isn’t the only one trying to squeeze in as many adventures as possible. Now, I know there are many styles for family adventures but I personally like to be prepared when we leave the house and whether we are at home or away I have a fun new gadget to help me be prepared.
Have you seen the Little Sun Solar Lamp before? It’s one of the many innovative “solutions for sustainable living” that can be found on the Eartheasy website. This rechargeable solar powered lamp not only is functional, it’s also quite fashionable (I love the sunflower shaped design), as well as durable. With an up to 2 year life span when used daily I expect our Little Sun Solar Lamp to be around for years to come.
I’m sure there are as many uses for the Little Sun Solar Lamp as there are people who use one, but I’m most excited about the uses for this lamp on family adventures (indoors and out), as well as the many ways my kids can have fun with this light. Perfect to give my girls a cheery light to when they fear the electricity may go out from a summer storm or to add cut through the darkness when my little fairies build blanket forts in the living room (didn’t you know that fairies have sunflower shaped light.
One of the biggest reasons why I’m loving the Little Sun Solar Lamp is because it makes the perfect travel nightlight. With at least 5 hours of charging with the solar panel facing the sun you can have up to 10 hours of soft light or 4 hours of bright light. The Little Sun Solar Lamp makes it much easier for my little travelers to find the bathroom in unfamiliar places when nature calls during the darkest hours of the night.
Besides for being completely adorable, the Little Sun Solar Lamp is also socially conscious, with proceeds from each sale contributing to getting clean, reliable and affordable light to people living in areas of the world with no electricity.
The Little Sun Solar Lamp is powered by 3 rechargeable AAA batteries, and is very sturdy. I have no problem letting my children use the lamp, but do suggest removing the optional lanyard if you’re allowing young children to use the lamp.
