have a spooktacular halloween with dinosaur train :: review

Last week these great Dinosaur Train Halloween costumes from California Costume Collections showed up at our house. Within 5 minutes I had a Buddy the T-Rex and a Tiny Pteranodon running around.

You see, my girls love Dinosaur Train.  L.O.V.E.  Love, Dinosaur Train.  All you have to do is say “T-Rex” and my 2 year old is stomping around singing “I’m a T-Rex, I’m a tyrannosaurus…”

Living in Michigan you never know if you’ll need to have room to add a snowsuit under whatever costume your kid is wearing this year or if a light jacket is all that will be needed. Thankfully this Dinosaur Train Buddy costume is large enough to fit a little extra winter-coat padding for my tyrannosaurus. The sizes run pretty true (3/4 fitting my newly 3T sized dinosaur) and I suggest erring on the large side if you too live in an area where extra space under a costume may be necessary. Both costumes are available in a M (3/4) or L (4/6) size.

Miss Dani has been having fun giving everyone she sees a “high-two” and the hand covers at the end of the sleeves make it possible for her to be extra-dinosaury or to have her little hands out for holding a bag of candy.

If I could find where my girls hid their The Spooky Scavenger Hunt book from Penguin Young Readers Group I’d give more specific details on this fun book.  Since my children decided their copies were pirate treasure that needed to be hidden (that would be a double-thumbs-up kid stamp of approval), here’s the ‘book jacket’ synopsis ::

Mr. Pteranodon takes Buddy and Tiny on a nighttime trip to the Big Pond for a spooky nature walk! Mr. Pteranodon and the conductor insist they can’t be scared, but when the conductor’s mom jumps out at them, everyone gets a good scare! This simple storybook is perfect for read-aloud fun!  Ages 4 – 8

If you have a Dinosaur Train fan in need of a Halloween costume I suggest checking out these great selections from California Costume Collections, or if a spooky fall read would entertain your little dinosaurs The Spooky Scavenger Hunt book is sure to be a hit!
