What could be more fun than throwing rubber chickens? A whole game about throwing rubber chickens! HA! Flickin’ Chicken from Haywire Group is quite possibly the silliest, and funnest, game I’ve ever played.
The goal of Flickin’ Chicken is to get your chicken to the round target in as few tosses, or ‘flicks,’ as possible. To make this more challenging you first designate someone to throw the round target disk as far as possible.
After that, up to 4 players take turns standing behind a designated line and try to throw their rubber chickens onto the disk. Very much like golf, or frisbee golf, you will probably need multiple shots to get to the target. As soon as any part of your chicken lands on the target you’ve completed the round.
Beware :: rubber chickens bounce. If the ground is at all hard you can have even more fun watching all those chickens do their best to stay away from their intended goal. But, those bouncing rubber chickens is a surefire way to get everyone laughing and having fun!
Even though the game is for ages 6 and up I think my 4-year-old is just as capable of playing Flickin’ Chicken. Especially, if she is playing against kids of similar ages (or even some adults). Basic counting skills are needed to add up the scores, but there is a handy score pad included to make things easy.
I’m really looking forward to bringing Flickin’ Chicken to my Dad’s for Father’s Day this summer and even my grandparents’ cottage to play against my cousins. I can just imagine the fun to be had playing Flickin’ Chicken on a hill to make it even more of a challenge.
