help your baby sit up with a hugaboo

When my kids were little, there were two options for putting your child in a sitting position: the Boppy pillow and the Bumbo seat. The Boppy, while soft, didn’t provide any support at all and would just slide away from the baby. The Bumbo really did help my children sit up, but it was hard and uncomfortable and, even worse, my kids would push up with their legs and flop over the back of the seat. Now there is a newer product out there that provides support, is soft and comfortable and is safe!

A friend of mine told me about Hugaboo and I wanted to check it out to share with you. First of all, the Hugaboo was designed by a mom who was trying to find a way to help her 7 month old son sit up. LOVE when a mom finds a way to meet her baby’s needs and then share it with the rest of us!  The Hugaboo is designed to give babies 360 degrees of support. Since they are supported all around, even if they “fall”, they will just lean over on the soft Hugaboo.

Once your child can comfortable hold her head up, she’s ready to try the Hugaboo.  It’s so nice to be able to let your child see the world around them. They can be seated on the floor right next to the rest of the family.  There are even two toy loops so they can have a few favorite toys right in grabbing distance.  This sweet little one was so thrilled to be sitting up and looking around.  I was shocked that such a little baby could “sit” with the help of the Hugaboo!  And, yes, the adorable covers are washable so it’s easy to keep them clean and ready for play!

The only negative I found was that it could be a little tricky to get the babies in and out of the seat–especially chunky babies. Then I realized the bottom of the seat can be easily unsnapped to make this process a bit easier.

I like that this is softer and safer than using a Bumbo seat!

I love that, too! So much more comfortable than having bare legs stick in a Bumbo! I always felt terrible trying to pull me kids out of that!
