Learning that 70-80% of the products we put on our skin go INTO our skin was a huge epiphany for me. I have been working on changing over skin care since. I actually have been enjoying just using the simplicity of raw honey for face wash for a couple years now, but especially in the winter, I need something a bit more.
When I was contacted by Herbal Grace Creations, I did the first thing I usually do when I see a new skin care line – go straight for the ingredient list. I was blown away. *Every* ingredient was safe.
I was sent the Facial Cleansing Grains, Queen of Hungary’s Facial Toner, Firm & Repair Facial Moisturizer, and the Organic Lip Balm.
The Facial Cleansing Grains are so neat. Using clay for skin care is not a new idea, but it has been a new concept for me in the last year or so. Finding skin care with clay ingredients is a very rare find. I was thrilled to find a facial cleanser with it! The detoxifying effect of clay alone is a huge benefit. French and Kaolin clays are known for their antibacterial and detoxification properties, and are a great source of absorb-able minerals. This grainy mixture of the clays with organic oats, lavender, and rose petals exfoliate while they detox, cleanse, and calm the skin. You just mix with a little water in your hands and smooth over to wash. I have been noticing some flaking on my skin since we have such harsh winter air this time of year, and within 2 days of using this it is completely gone. And I only wash my face once a day!
The Queen of Hungary’s Facial Toner can be used on *all* skin types! Usually toners completely dry me out. This toner did not do that – but I could also feel the cleansing effects of it like a toner should. They infuse herbs like chamomile, comfrey, calendula, among others in raw apple cider vingar for 3 weeks. Then rose petal water and vinegar are added to the strained infusion. It really felt like it calmed my skin.
I am completely in love with the Firm & Repair Moisturizer. I usually use coconut oil for skin moisturizer but this is a great oil based moisturizer with OUT the oily skin feel after rubbing in. To be honest I had never heard of half the essential oils used in this, but when I took some time to read about their benefits I was so excited to keep using this. The benefits of each of the essential oils is listed on THIS page of their etsy shop. It is very user friendly, easy to read, and simple to understand.
The Organic Lip Balm is a simple mixture of cocoa butter, beeswax, and coconut oil and feels so great – especially this time of year. I’m planning on having it in my beach bag for our beautiful beach days this summer too! They add in a beautiful Madagascar vanilla extract to make it smell amazing. I really like the shape of the container! It doesn’t roll off my counter, and actually the oval shape is a better shape for applying it!

January 19, 2014 at 7:40 pmHi Keara B!
We just saw this and had to respond! Our children all have eczema and was actually the reason that we started this company – with our salve as our first product! We ourselves have very sensitive and dry skin (especially in these Maine winters) and the salve is a life-saver. We especially love it for our dry hands and cracked feet. We just had a woman that is diabetic with VERY dry skin that just left us feedback that this salve works so well for her. Good luck with the giveaway, and please consider us for a salve purchase – it really sinks into the skin to provide some amazing relief.
Have a great weekend!
Lindsay and Ashley
