I’m sure you’ve noticed that I am hugely into music, and I am pretty open minded and enjoy a wide variety of musical styles. I want to expose my kiddo to as many genres as possible, but I don’t want to expose her to lyrics with adult content. Enter KINDIE MUSIC! I have to say, I am pretty stoked about the amazing kindie music out there. If you’ve not discovered kindie, you’re missing out! It is family-friendly music that features blends of fun, clever and educational songwriting that is 100% appropriate for littles, with beats and melodies that both kids and adults can appreciate and enjoy.
One of my new favorite kindie bands is Hullabaloo – a fantastic blend of folksy-pop and rock ‘n’ roll with a touch of country flair. Plus, the lead singer’s voice is sexy very pleasant – think of a “young and upbeat Johnny Cash” and that’s Steve’s voice. Their newest album Raise a Ruckus is just awesome! I’m listening to it right now as I type, and I’m fully enjoying myself! Did I mention that my kiddo is in bed and I’m all alone in the office grooving to a “kid” CD? *smile* I honestly love this album! I have to say, the title track “Raise a Ruckus” is my favorite along with “Look at You,” but I also love “Favorite Day” – such a sweet song (and I’m a sucker for pretty much any song with a ukulele)!
Check out the video of “Dad Upside Down” from Raise a Ruckus:
Isn’t that just a great song? You can preview several songs from the album on the Hullabaloo website. Listen to “Raise a Ruckus,” trust me, it rocks!
If you want to expose your kids to some quality music without having to worry about the lyrics being inappropriate (let’s face it, a lot of adult music contains language and content that isn’t suitable for innocent littles), you HAVE to check out kindie music, and you can start by entering to win a copy of Raise a Ruckus! And if you don’t win, buy a copy! Trust me, you will not be sorry!
