It’s been a long couple of weeks around here. The flu and respiratory virus are in full swing here in South Carolina and I was just started to feel better when my son started running a fever tonight. However, despite the germs I am excited to say that I did finish the Strada Easel 31 Day Challenge! This challenge has been a great way to motivate me to create for the past three years. Even if it’s not always my best work it still challenges me to create a bulk of work that otherwise I wouldn’t have created.
Hoping to turn some of these paintings and drawings into prints to sell. I’ve always enjoyed painting and drawing portraits even if they are of pets. Living in the country exposes us to farm life that not everyone is able to enjoy. Every time I leave my house I see horses and cows when city people would have to drive to the country to see real farm animals.
I remember as a child drawing horses and I do have to admit that the portraits of horses are some of my favorites. Especially the one I painting of the horse in watercolor. I still have my first drawing book of “How To Draw Horses”! Although I was not selected this year for a new easel I received a lot of exposure during this challenge that otherwise I would not have had. So needless to say it was another successful challenge. Anything that motivates you to create it worthwhile. Make sure to check out my introduction to the challenge here.
This year’s requirement was to take a photograph of all 31 Days and that was a great way to preserve these memories. I really enjoyed taking the time to create each and every work of art I have pictured.
What are some of your personal challenges this year?
