Did you see Good Morning American yesterday? The Girl of the Year, from American Girl, was officially released! Maybe you have been following along with all their clues, and maybe this is new to you. Either way, it’s a fun time for all those that love American Girl! Every year, American Girl introduces a “Girl of the Year”. She is available to purchase from January 1 to December 31…or while supplies last. The past few years, the Girl of the Year has been tied to a great organization where donations go towards them. This year is the same!
We have shared a lot from American Girl over the years, so just like I have always done, I wanted to share an introduction with you about Lea Clark, the 2016 Girl of the Year!
Meet Lea, the 2016 Girl of the Year™! She dives in to new adventures and explores what’s in her heart. The 18″ Lea doll has warm hazel eyes that open and close, and long, light-brown wavy hair with sun-kissed highlights. She has a huggable cloth body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. She comes with the Lea Dives In paperback book, plus her Brazilian festival outfit.
Not only an introduction, but all things Lea Clark too! I’ll be sharing more later this month, so today is an overview of everything that will be released this year for purchase. Be sure to CLICK over because I’m NOT sharing everything available. Consider this a teaser. I’ll be doing a video review in the next couple weeks of all. the. little. details. But, for now, let’s keep on reading…
The basics. You can get Lea and the book or the Exclusive Collection below, (NOTE, in the collection, you only get ONE doll. It shows two only to show the outfit). Whatever tickles your fancy! The collection includes Lea’s Beach Dress, available only in this collection, Lea™ Doll & Book, Lea’s Accessories, A tie-dye-print dress with bows at the shoulders, Green flip-flop sandals, Matching sunglasses, and a pretty butterfly hair clip.
Then, the some of the add on’s you can get. How sweet are these little animals (sloth, margay cat and sea turtle) and the FUN Rainforest House. Hours of play with these!
Next, books galore!
Last, for today. I wanted to share some outfit options…
The donation aspect that’s supported this year is WWF…
American Girl is supporting World Wildlife Fund (WWF) through our 2016 “Wild at Art” campaign. Your donation supports WWF’s work to help protect wild animals and wild places around the world. Visit Wild At Art to learn more.
Talk to me! Is Lea Clark up your alley or no? A photographer, animal lover AND green eyes? She was MEANT for me! lol!! I mean….my girls. Totally for my girls. Ha!

January 2, 2016 at 10:38 pmI think she’s adorable, but for the last couple years, I keep wishing she’d be a bit more multicultural. And I’m as white as can be and live in the Midwest. I just want a bit of variety! I do love that the new historical doll this summer will be set during the Civil Rights Movement.

January 2, 2016 at 12:36 pmwow Lea is such a nice doll I can see why it is girl of the year! Looks like a good friend, and nothing weird, not trying to make a political statement with the doll, just a perfect little pal!

January 2, 2016 at 11:14 amWhat a pretty doll. I love everything about her from her hair, to her shoes. I cannot wait until my niece is old enough to have one of these. Just wish they weren’t so spendy.
