Once again Tommy Nelson has added a new favorite book to our bookshelf! It Will Be Okay by Lysa TerKeurst is a wonderful story about a tiny Little Seed who is warm and cozy in his seed packet until one day the Farmer tells him he has big plans for him. Just like the Farmer knew that the Little Seed was meant for bigger and better things, so God sometimes has to disrupt our “comfort-zone” to help us grow and achieve better things!
About It Will Be Okay:
Little Seed and Little Fox are facing changes and brand new circumstances—and they don’t like it one bit! Through this unlikely friendship, children will discover that no matter how new or fearful their circumstances, God is always with them. The whimsical art by Natalia Moore will put a smile on kids’ faces and put their minds at ease. Just as Little Seed and Little Fox learn to trust that the Farmer is good and kind, children will also learn to trust God.
What I love about this story (and almost every other Tommy Nelson book) is that the “plots” are never confusing and state the true meaning clearly. At the end of It Will Be Okay it says, “Little Seed liked things to stay the way they were. Little Fox was sometimes afraid. But just as they learned to trust the Farmer, we can learn to trust God. We do not need to fear. He has a wonderful plan. God loves you, and He is kind. And in the end, it really will be okay.” No hiding the true purpose of this story… plainly stating how important it is to trust God through everything!
This book also hits on the importance of scripture memorization with 10 verses to memorize. With fear and change, it is important to hide God’s word in your heart. When you need verses to give you peace and calm assurance, you will have them in your mind and heart already! It is so important to teach this to young children!
