Well, there is no physical crying going on here, but inside I’m just taking it all in and shed a tear now and then. My babies are growing so fast! With every year when my birthday rolls around, I tend to get sentimental and start thinking about life. The blessings. The tears. The ups and downs. The life that I’ve been given! I’m always looking at what we can do with our life to make it so much more awesome on a day to day basis. For me, with the crazy busy schedule that I keep, it’s the little things. The little ways that I see good in the busy. The ways my baby, who can’t talk much yet, tells me she loves me oh so much and that I’m her world. Little does she know it’s the other way around. 🙂 I hope to encourage you to seek out the little things in your life too, and I hope this post brings light to them in your life.

You know, stop and smell the roses? Yah, that…

One of my favorite things to do with my girls is read books. They sit on my lap and I just take it in. We read, laugh, flip pages together. What they don’t know is that I’m looking at every single piece of them. Smelling their sweet baby scented shampoo’d hair. Looking at their painted piggies. Gosh how fast they grow.
The laughter at bath time. My youngest is getting quite confident in the bath now. She is dunking her head and coming up laughing hysterically. She has attempted to lay down, but she doesn’t like how the water covers a portion of her ear. I think it must tickle or something because she does the smirky faced cringe every time. I’m the first one she looks for, as soon as fear sets in. She looks for me, and she knows that I’ll be there for her too.

Massage after bath time with my baby. Yes, I still do this. My older girls don’t feel the need for this any more. They obviously don’t know how much they will LOVE this in the future. I’ve recently been introduce to JOHNSON’S® baby oil gel with shea & cocoa butter and I LOVE the scent! It’s light but oh. so. nice. I rub it in to her sweet little feet and legs, then her arms. And all the while, I’m taking in every inch of her body. Seeing it grow before my eyes. Her eyes locked on my eyes because she’s not sure if I’ll turn the massage in to tickles. Que the tears…again!

Also, talking about massage, I have recently been using the JOHNSON’S® baby moisture lotion with vanilla oatmeal and this fun JOHNSON’S® baby oil gel with shea & cocoa butter on baby Kensington – and when she’s all done, I take advantage of this awesome product for my own personal use. I didn’t even realize they had such products that would not only work for a baby, but for me too. I mean, I would use the baby lotion, but I’d smell like my baby all day. Not all that bad. 🙂 I feel the JOHNSON’S® Baby Moisture Wash & Lotion with Vanilla Oatmeal feels just as good as salon and other high end brands of products. I’ve always heard that oatmeal is a good exfoliator and skin soother, but I didn’t know that it came in a product from JOHNSON’S® too!  So, you too can get the awesome skin soothing and smoothing benefits with this line – and not smell like a baby, but still smell great and have the reminiscent qualities of your baby’s scent. 🙂

The eye contact. The eyes say a million things words could never say.

When I walk in the door to my home, after I’ve been gone for either a long or short time, I’m greeted with a screeching baby. She’s very excited to see me, as I am her! She comes ‘baby running’ over and grabs me. She gives me a loud “HI” and she’s back to following me around like a little puppy.

Last, it’s the random hugs my little one gives me tells me everything in this world is going to be ok. I believe it’s all going to be ok as long as I have my family by my side!

It’s the little things. The little things get me daily!

Ultimately, what I’ve noticed is children live day to day and don’t worry and dwell on what’s happened. They don’t think about what happened that brought them to tears the hour before. They are done with that, it’s history. I think we can learn so much from kids!! They live, forgive and forget.

All in all, my wish for you on my birthday is that we all live a happier life. That we don’t dwell. That we stop and smell the roses. I hope this happens for you – or at least, by reading this post, it gets you thinking!
