jim henson’s pajanimals – play date :: review and giveaway

Jim Henson's PajanimalsAs parents I’m sure you too have experienced the phenomenon that is the burst of energy a child has Right. At. Bedtime.  To help transition the girls from running, running, running to gotobedsleepyhead we have recently started watching Pajanimals as part of our bedtime routine.

Pajanimals Playdate DVD imageIf you’ve never seen Jim Henson’s Pajanimals before, you are missing out! Cowbella, Apollo, Sweetpea Sue and Squacky (the Pajanimals) can be watched nightly as part of The Good Night Show on Sprout® or as part of the NBC Kids Saturday morning lineup.

The snugly Pajanimals quartet use their imaginations, songs, and new character friends to help share stories and lessons with their preschool viewers.  My 5-year-old requests Pajanimals on a nightly basis and her 3-year-old sister gladly watches along.

The new Pajanimals Playdate DVD include the following stories and runs approximately 60 minutes (perfect to break up into short viewings over multiple evenings) ::

  • Pajanimals-art-new-1024x682I’m Sorry, Really Sorry
  • A Colorful Problem
  • Game Day
  • The Rocket Ride
  • Share Day

There’s also a bunch of fun songs on the DVD, including a  couple of favorites at our house “Brusha, Brusha, Brusha” and “Stick to the Plan.”  Both of which are themed towards following bedtime routines to get yourself ready to go to bed.

If you have a preschool aged kiddo in your house (or even one who is slightly older) and would like some help in getting the bedtime routine to be less crazy and more restful I highly suggest adding Pajanimals Playdate.  Their stories are perfectly timed, perfectly themed, and perfectly calming.

I don’t have children of my own yet, but I work as a private Kg teacher and babysit weekly. I think this would be a great way to have fun with the kids I work with and encourage them to brush their teeth and create routines even when I’m the one putting them to bed instead of their parents 🙂
