Are you ever in need of a television show or movie, yet the perfect movie is no where on live TV? Or maybe you want to watch a movie with your kids, yet you don’t want to run to the store or your local movie rental location? That’s me…often!! The idea of packing up the family to go get a movie that, chances are, all 5 of us won’t agree upon…is. not. appealing. So, we resort to
Netflix for our family quite a bit!
Let me back up a quick minute here. Are you familiar with Netflix? If not, let’s take a second to update you before going further. Check out these bullet points (because bullet points are awesome!), then you should be caught up:
- You can watch your favorite TV shows and movies anywhere, any time you want. Netflix is available on hundreds of devices, which you probably already have at home!
- Streaming is easier than you think. Download the free app on your iPad, click on the Netflix app on any gaming device or visit Netflix.com on your computer – and you’re in business.
- The dedicated kids section has family favorites appropriate for children ages 2- 12. All content is selected with help from Common Sense Media to provide ratings, reviews and information so parents can easily make choices for their kids!
I love Netflix and the selection they offer. I recently trained for a 1/2 marathon and much of my training was on the treadmill. During my training I was able to watch an entire season of a show that I recently became addicted to {lose term obviously} 🙂 On the family side of things…oh my LOVE! My middle daughter just loves to watch movies in the afternoon after her nap. She is a slow riser like I am, and it’s kind of our “alone” time together. Multiple times during the week we sit down together for 1/2-1 hour and watch a show together. Multiple times a week, we log in to our Netflix account and pick out a show. You guys, the selection is
HUGE for kids shows!! They have recently added choices from Disney Jr. (our FAVORITE), Cartoon Network and Hasbro. Check some of our recent selections out:
- My Little Pony
- Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
- Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Road Rally
- Cars Toons: Mater’s Tall Takes
- 101 Dalmatians
- Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue
- The Aristocats
- Pocahontas
- Angelina Ballerina
- Jake and the Never Land Pirates
Others available include:
- Batman and Beyond
- Transformers Prime
- Tron: Uprising
- Powerpuff Girls
- Thomas & Friends: Go Go Thomas
- Pingu
- Justin Time
- The Adventures of Tintin
- Curious George
- H2O: Just Add Water
- Caillou
- Sesame Street
- Johnny Test
- Suite Life of Zack & Cody
- Curious George
- ParaNorman
Pretty unbelievable selection, right???
It is quite simple to get an account. Rates start at $7.99 per month. You receive access to
Netflix.com, and depending on what plan you choose, makes a difference what all is included. Once you are logged in, there is a special section for Kids only, “Just for Kids”. I love this because when my 7 year old is manning the remote, I don’t have to worry about her accidentally clicking on an adult show like Meet the Fockers or something else like that! 🙂
What are you watching on TV with your family? Netflix has family favorites from Disney, Disney Jr., Hasbro, Cartoon Network and Dreamworks that are available to stream anytime, anywhere.
And streaming is easier than you think! Download the free app on your iPad, click on the Netflix app on any gaming device, go to the website on your computer – and you’re in business. Check it out here!
