When my oldest daughter was potty training I quickly transitioned her to using the regular toilet with a toilet seat insert. There were a couple reasons for this: 1) it was less gross (for me) than constantly cleaning out a training potty; 2) I’d heard too many stories of kids who were afraid to use a regular toilet, thus making trips out of the house impossible; 3) I wanted to make sure that she was able to be completely independent with going potty and the thought of an accidental spill while using a training potty still makes me gag a little.
This worked so well for us that when I started getting ready to potty train my youngest I decided to do the seat insert again. Having experience with what worked from our old seat insert and what didn’t I knew I wanted a hard molded plastic that could be easily cleaned but I knew we’d also need to try a training potty. I love that the Jahgoo 3-in-1 Training Potty is able to make that transition with my youngest because she honestly has shown no interest in using a training potty on it’s own and if we didn’t have the Jahgoo 3-in-1 Training Potty we would have ended up wasting money on buying a training potty and separately a toilet seat insert.
The seat is easy to clean, and my ‘almost’ 2-year-old is able to put the seat insert on the toilet herself every time she wants to let me know she has to go potty. In fact, this has happened at least 3 times today and it’s been amazing to see how that little bit of independence has made her more confident in using the toilet.
When used as a training potty the seat does sit a little higher than most of the competition and I’d recommend diligently watching your child use their training potty (which is probably the safety recommendation anyway). You’ll also notice that the center of gravity is better for when that pieces are used separately and the frame for the training potty seat is used as a step stool.
I don’t have a problem with this because for the price point of the Jahgoo 3-in-1 potty you’re getting a really sweet deal on a training potty, step stool, and toilet seat insert and personally we will be using the seat insert and step stool much longer than we ever would as a training potty. my SIMPLE star rating :: 5 out of 5
