Baby number four will be making her debut in our family, in just a couple of months! This means I currently have all things baby on my mind. As she’s wiggling around inside my tummy, I can’t help but think about those first few days in the hospital with her. There really is nothing quite like that time. Newborns are complete perfection, and those first baby snuggles are the best thing life has to offer.
With each child, I remember holding them and thinking about how perfect their tiny bodies were, with skin so silky smooth… And then, with each one of them, it seemed like as soon as that thought crossed my mind, they would reach their tiny little hands up to their face and begin to claw away. It never fails. That unscathed baby is suddenly full of red scratches everywhere from razor sharp baby nails. A whole new level of heartbreak for moms.
This time around, I am very much looking forward to skipping this sad step and avoiding the scratches altogether, thanks to Handsocks™! Just as the name implies, Handsocks™ are well…pretty much socks for your hands, only way better. Think super soft mittens for your little ones hands, coupled with the top section of a sock. It’s genius, really! These “mittens” are the first I have come across that actually stay on tiny hands like they’re supposed to. They go up farther on the arm, and fit snug, yet not too tight, similar to how a sock fits around your calf. Handsocks™ fold over, so you can expose fingers if you’d like. As much as I want to keep my sweet girl from scratching her face, I know I’ll want to hold her precious little hands and marvel at those tiny little fingers. Back and forth the Handsocks™ will go, without having to be removed from baby. Briliant!
When I was first introduced to Handsocks™, I figured they were only for babies, but to my pleasant surprise, they come in bigger sizes! We have found they are great for running errands. My kids are notorious for pulling their mittens off in the car and then getting frustrated because they can’t get them back on the right way without mom’s help. We now put Handsocks™ on under their coats and they can easily flip the top on and off as they need to. It’s a win for everyone!
We have also found that Handsocks™ are a key component to tackling dry hands. My five year old daughter, gets painfully dry hands this time of year. We have been using Handsocks™ at bedtime over a healing lotion, to help moisturize her hands. She loves the new routine, and it is working like a charm to repair her sore hands!
Handsocks™ definitely get our recommendation! Be sure to check them out.
