It’s funny what kids find absolutely fascinating. When our Kozy Knapper arrived for Jack to try out and help me review, I had no idea how much he was going to love it. He has nap time at school every afternoon so during the week he leaves it in his cubby. It folds up like a backpack so it’s easy to transport and store. On the weekends he will get it out to watch cartoons in the living room. It’s going to be great to have on hand when we have company and the kids get kicked out of their beds too. It’s comfortable, functional, and easy enough for a 5 year old to roll up.
Jack wanted to demo his mat for our readers. Enjoy the video below.
The Kozy Knapper is more then just a nap mat. There are also versions of this mat that are autism friendly such as their scensory version of the knapper. It is weighted, you can pick textured fabrics, etc. All mats can be custom ordered and they are made by hand with love. It’s a really great product!connect with the kozy knapper mat ::

May 3, 2013 at 3:59 pmI didn’t know much about sensory, weighted, autism until a few days ago when I was reading a friends post about weighting down a bear. I visited their site to read up more on the sensory info, “One of the most commonly used and “prescribed” therapeutic interventions in the Occupational Therapy world is the use of weighted products and treatments that involve what we they “heavy work”, proprioceptive input, and deep pressure.” Is that like keeping them grounded? That’s awesome this helps too 🙂

April 19, 2013 at 12:51 pmHow cool is this! “As described by individuals with autism, sensory integration techniques, such as pressure-touch can facilitate attention and awareness, and reduce overall arousal. One of the most commonly used and “prescribed” therapeutic interventions in the Occupational Therapy world is the use of weighted products and treatments that involve what we they “heavy work”, proprioceptive input, and deep pressure. The therapeutic use of weight and “deep pressure” to the muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments allows the central nervous system to better interpret and integrate both tactile (sense of touch) and proprioceptive (sense of movement, body position, and pressure) input.” At first glance, I thought that I would get my child a nice sleeping bag but I think that I will pass this on to a friend whose child is autistic. Really nice product.
